Head Coach: John Kieber

John grew up in Minnesota having successful youth and high school careers in both hockey and golf. Recruited by multiple schools, he attended Division III Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN where he was a member of both the hockey and golf teams. After his sophomore year he left the hockey team to focus on golf where he participated in two NCAA Division III National Championships.

John is a Level 3 USA Hockey coach with experience at many levels of coaching.  Growing up the son of the local hockey directory he assisted with youth teams. He has assisted coaching the Stillwater Girls High School & Gustavus Women's DIII hockey teams. John is excited to be the Head Coach of the 19AA team this season. Building out this part of the organization is something he has been passionate about behind the scenes with his work on the board for years. Teaching higher level hockey systems at this age is paramount to their ability to compete. This will be a competitive team with a very viable path to USA Hockey Nationals, which is the goal. One area of focus will be off ice work with his team to identify and engage potential options for girls to continue playing at the next level. True coaching requires every player be brought along for the ride and this team will be coached in that manner.

A Valley resident since 1999 he has witnessed firsthand the growth of girls' hockey in Arizona with two daughters both in the Kachina program. John is very much looking forward to contributing to the continued success of this growth and the Kachina program!
