Get ready to lace up your skates, hit the pavement, and make a difference! The 5th Annual Skatin’ for Leighton is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 9 AM-1 PM at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick! We’re coming together to honor the incredible life and legacy of Leighton Accardo and raise money for the Leighton Accardo Memorial Fund.

You can register for the event here! Participants will be able to skate the concourse and/or walk/run the field! General Admission tickets are also available to enjoy the event!

This year, we’re making Skatin' For Leighton even bigger by combining the event with the Arizona Kachinas End-of-Year Celebration from 1:30 PM - 3 PM, celebrating the hard work and achievements of all our teams. Expect a day packed with high-energy skating, tasty food, exciting games, and amazing prizes—all in the spirit of supporting girls' hockey.

Here are the prizes for our top individual fundraisers!

1st place - $100 gift card to Skillz Hockey Center

2nd place - 1 hour bay rental (for up to 4 shooters) at Pro Hockey Headquarters ($70 value)

3rd place - $50 gift card to Scheels

We’ve got an awesome fundraising setup that gives back in a big way — and we want to make sure it’s clear how the money flows!

This revenue share applies specifically to sponsorships brought in (not individual donations). The funds raised from sponsors will be split between two great causes:

Event Split:

• 60% goes to the Leighton Accardo Memorial Fund
• 40% goes toward the Kachinas End-of-Season Party

From there, the End-of-Season Party funds are divided based on our regular fundraising policy:

End-of-Season Party Breakdown:

• 25% to the player/family
• 25% to the team
• 50% to the organization

Example (Let’s say a family secures a $4,900 sponsor for the Fun Zone):

• Leighton Accardo Memorial Fund: $2,940
• End-of-Season Party: $1,960
• Player/Family: $490
• Team: $490
• Organization: $980
