Matt Shott Memorial Tournament
Welcome to the Matt Shott Memorial Tournament, an all-girls hockey tournament designed to provide a competitive, positive, and memorable experience for players, families, and coaches. The tournament honors the Arizona Kachinas' co-founder Matt Shott, who tirelessly promoted girls and youth hockey in AZ before he passed away from cancer in 2021.
Our goal is to celebrate girls hockey while delivering a well-organized, family-friendly event from start to finish.
The Tournament will be hosted in Arizona by the Arizona Kachinas Girls Hockey Program. The Tournament partners with local rink partners in AZ Ice & Coyotes Community Ice Center.

Tournament Dates: December 11th-13th, 2026
Location: Gilbert, AZ, Mesa, AZ & Phoenix, AZ
Divisions: 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 19U
Levels: AAA / AA / A
Games Guaranteed: 4 game minimum
Format: Pool play followed by playoffs/championship games
USA Hockey Sanction Number: USA Hockey TBD
Registration Overview:
Team Entry Fee: $2,250
Deposit Required: $500 (non-refundable)
Final Payment Due: November 11th, 2026
Registration Deadline: October 11th, 2026
This is a STAY-TO-PLAY Tournament. More details regarding hotels and your stay will be shared directly from the Tournament Director.
ACHA College Showcase:
During the Matt Shott Memorial Tournament, we will be hosting women's ACHA DI/DII program games throughout the entire weekend. These games will be hosted at the conclusion of each tournament day and will provide teams an opportunity to interact with ACHA programs.
College Coach Exposure Clinic:
On Thursday night, TIME TBD, the Kachinas will be hosting a College Coach Exposure Clinic at RINK TBD. The registration for the clinic will be open to the first 40 skaters.
Coaches will be announced soon!
Exposure Clinic Includes:
- NCAA DI & ACHA DI/DII Coaches Running Practice
- 75-minute ice session
- 30-minute coach chat following the session
- Q&A opportunity with coaches
